A Midwestern transplant from Michigan, Alan moved to Illinois to attend Northwestern University. Upon graduation in 2005, he began his career in Chicago Public Schools. Alan currently teaches Biology and Chemistry at Whitney Young Magnet High School in Chicago. Outside of school, he enjoys camping, bowling, spending time with his two sons and dog, and working on his vintage Chicago bungalow.
