Elizabeth Copper, Retired from Chicago Public Schools

Session: Forensics for Your Science Curriculum

Elizabeth S. Copper is a retired science educator and a 2013 Golden Apple Fellow from Chicago, Illinois. Her assignments have been Life Science, Environmental Science and Honors Biology at the Middle School grade level. She created the Honors Forensic science class at Lindblom Math & Science Academy. Ms. Copper's chemical symbol is Cu, element 29 on the periodic table of elements. She is the Executive Director of the Chicago Public School Student Science Fair, Inc, a non-for-profit organization serving to provide a platform for CPS students to present their research and network with other professionals in the field of STEM.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Mundelein College Chicago/Loyola University, Masters in Public Health from the University of Illinois, School of Public Health and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Illinois College of Education.  Ms. Copper is a regular instructor for the Center for Talented Development (CTD) programs in various areas of science instruction and a Spectrum Summer Instructor.
