Do you feel ready to freshen up your Biology unit about protein synthesis in a different way with the virus that shut the world down four years ago? Join Christina Moore and Valentin Torres for an overview of how to use this phenomena in your classroom fully, along with miniPCR bio’s COVID qPCR Lab! This will leave you with a complete unit plan with student explorations around mutations, mRNA vaccines, and access to healthcare in Chicago, along with a different spin on a summative project through a Public Service Announcement. Additionally, participants will have a chance to try out a PCR lab as students themselves, leaving everyone ready to bring this hands-on lab to students who will feel like lab experts when screening travelers for COVID-19 in the airport.
