Resilience & Legacy in Science 2

Presenter: Nina Hike, George Westinghouse College Prep

Sickle Cell Disease has disproportionately impacted Black communities, and communication has been inadequate about awareness of the disease and its treatments. The first CRISPR treatment for Sickle Cell Disease puts it in the spotlight. This workshop will explore current treatments for sickle cell disease using the science writing heuristic, NGSS, and laboratory investigations. We will also explore ways teachers and students can become advocates to help in the fight against sickle cell disease.
