Session: Air Pollution Tragedy

Air Air Pollution Tragedy

Use a mystery to investigate science concepts! In this session we will use the "Air Pollution Tragedy" to investigate the deaths of 60 people in Meuse Valley in Belgium in the 1930s. Using evidence from multiple sources, you will construct an explanation to describe why these deaths happened over 3 days in chilly December 1930. This session will utilize a claim-evidence-reasoning framework to create an explanation. It will also feature sample student responses to the tragedy.
