Marjorie Baker is a Curriculum & Instruction Specialist for Science in the Round Lake Area School District. Previously, she was the Manager of the Institute of Science Teaching Excellence at the Chicago Zoological Society/Brookfield Zoo. In both positions, Marjorie develops and teaches K-12 teacher professional development as well as provides classroom coaching to K-12 teachers to infuse NGSS and student-centered learning into science lessons. Marjorie has presented at NSTA, NMEA, MAMEA, ICE, ISTA and at the Baxter Symposium. She holds a Master’s in Secondary Science Education and a Bachelor’s of Science in Marine Biology both from the University of Maryland and she is a certified public school teacher in Illinois and Maryland. Marjorie has experience working with preK-12 students and teachers in both the informal and formal classroom settings.
