Explore how antibiotics and plasmids affect the growth of microorganisms! We'll be exploring:

  • The Bauer-Kirby Test to determine the effectiveness of three different types of antibiotics on three different types of bacteria. 
  • Bacterial Transformation by introducing a Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) DNA  sequence into bacteria. By the end of the lab, we'll produce GLOWING colonies!

This workshop is perfect for teachers of middle school science, general biology, health sciences, or biotechnology students. 

Participants will be able to access all materials needed for the lab FOR FREE through our Baxter Box Loaner Program
